Making music behind a computer is special, but the real magic only happens when you share it live with an audience.
The ManderA ensemble is a contemporary classical music ensemble. We perform compelling, evocative music that closely aligns with the atmosphere of film music: narrative, full of emotion, and accessible to a broad audience.
Our Story
The story of ManderA began at the piano. During accompaniment practice lessons in Turnhout, founder Driek Manders discovered his passion for composing. What started with small piano pieces soon grew into writing large-scale orchestral compositions.
In 2026, Driek officially released his music for the first time under an independent label. Although the music was composed and produced digitally, one major wish remained: to bring the music to life on stage, in genuine interaction with the audience. To seek out that human dynamic and live energy, the ManderA ensemble was founded.
An Inclusive Musical Community
ManderA is an inclusive ensemble in the broadest sense of the word. For us, music is a universal language that brings people together — regardless of age or background.

Toast Together, Eat Together
At ManderA, it is not just about the note on the score, but also about the connection between people. You can see this reflected in our rehearsals:

Joint lunch (12:00 – 13:00): Before the rehearsal, we start together at the table. Everyone brings some homemade food to share. This creates a warm, family atmosphere and a close bond within the group.

Rehearsal (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM): We rehearse every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month, naturally with a relaxed break in between.
Our Mission
We want to debunk the prejudice that classical music is distant or stuffy. Through our cinematic compositions and the warm energy of our live performances, we take listeners on a musical journey.
